I remember a few times at family friend camp gatherings I’d need a break from the toll of youth. (Climbing trees etc) so I’d sit with the adults, and I remember Steve would always find ways to include me. I have a mental image of him sitting across from me with that iconic smile after having done so. Even a small act like that displays his character and what kind of person he was. He will always have a place in my past and heart and I’ll treasure that mental image.

Steve cooked me what is to this day one of my favorite meals of all time. I remember sleeping over one night and for breakfast being served up pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and blueberries. I was confused at the time, but Steve's kitchen wizardry made sense as soon as I took a bite. Steve is also the only man to this day I knew to make his own homemade dog food. So many memories of Steve's humor, strong moral compass and family pride come to mind, just too much to write in a message.
