Together with our community, Barwon Health Foundation exists to fund lifesaving and life-changing care at Barwon Health. In the last decade alone, our collective investment has transformed countless lives.

Barwon Health Foundation is an independent foundation, guided by a dedicated board of highly-skilled volunteers, who are passionate in their focus on advancing the health of Greater Geelong and upholding donor wishes.

Our mission is to inspire our community to invest in a healthier future by supporting the vital work of Barwon Health, providing enhanced comfort and care. Our Foundation assists Barwon Health in achieving world class health standards by driving fundraising and inspiring philanthropy.

Together with our supporters, we invest in excellence in medical care, facilities, state-of-the-art equipment, and research to advance health and wellbeing for all. We are one charity with many focuses, committed to supporting all stages of life, from birth through to death, and every health milestone in between.

$4 million transformation of the Special Care Nursery
Expanding capacity by 40 per cent, allowing over 600 vulnerable newborns each year to receive life-saving care close to home.
$4.1 million upgrade to the Andrew Love Cancer Centre
Delivering modern technology and enhanced comfort in the chemotherapy day ward and a new oncology pharmacy improving medication safety for cancer patients.
$3.6 million dedicated Kids' Rehabilitation Centre, Bendigo Bank House at McKellar
Helping hundreds of local children each year who are recovering from illness, injury or living with a disability to live more independent lives, keeping families together and lessening the need to travel to Melbourne for rehabilitation.
$2 million contribution to establish a state-of-the-art dental facility in Geelong's northern suburbs
An additional 5,000 dental patients cared for annually, addressing healthcare equity and reinforcing the critical link between oral health and overall wellbeing.
Establishment of Barwon Health's Clinician Scientist Pathway scholarship program
Attracting and supporting the brightest minds in our region by funding the innovative program that enables allied health, nursing, midwifery, and medical clinicians to combine a PhD program with their clinical roles.

Transperineal biopsy machine, supporting prostate cancer diagnosis
The first available to public patients in our region, enabling earlier, accurate, and less invasive prostate cancer detection. Over 750 local dads, brothers and sons have benefited from this safer, world-leading procedure.
Cutting-edge fetal ultrasound machine
The first of its kind available to public patients in Geelong, helping to establish Barwon Health's new Fetal Medicine Service. The technology helps with early detection of fetal abnormalities or pregnancy challenges, giving babies the best start in life.
Robotic feeding device to assist Motor Neurone Disease (MND) patients
Part of a growing equipment library funded through philanthropy, designed to support independence and dignity for local patients living with MND.

$2 million to create the Adrian Costa Clinical Trials Centre
A facility entirely established through philanthropy, bringing hope and breakthrough treatments to thousands of patients across the Barwon South West region.
$1.65 million Breast Cancer Clinical Trials
Investing in Phase 1 Breast Cancer Clinical Trials to provide local women with access to personalised treatment, close to home.
ECG machine to support cancer clinical trials
A dedicated ECG machine helping to perform cardiac monitoring on cancer patients enrolled in clinical trials, streamlining their treatment and care.
Barwon Infant Study (BIS), a major birth cohort study
Over 1,000 local families have participated in BIS since 2010. The research is helping impact public health and policy in Australia and internationally.
