Wednesday 28th SepJo Bourke passed away unexpectedly on Thursday 22 September 2022. Aged 64 years.
Jo dedicated over 40 years to caring for people as a nurse and safety and quality professional.
She was a passionate advocate for patient care, governance, safety and volunteers - always motivated by her love of people.
Anytime someone was in need, Mum was there. She had this amazing way of knowing what would make someone feel better.
She had many loves in life - her love for her children, grandchildren and extended family, her love of travel and cars, and, of course, her love for exercise... her fit-bit obsession saw her conquer the goal of 10,000 steps per day, every day.
Jo will always be remembered for her unwavering care of others and she will be deeply, dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In memory of Jo Bourke, our family has created ‘The Jo Bourke Legacy Fund’. The Fund is established through the Barwon Health Foundation and will be permanently endowed, providing a lasting legacy in our Mum’s honour.
The family asks for those who know Mum to please consider a contribution to this Fund which will support patient comfort and care at Barwon Health, indefinitely.
