Training program partner
Whether the 10km is your first ever event or you are stepping up to the half marathon, ProFeet Footwear have put together an eight week training program to get you to the start line.
Each program runs across two levels, first timer and intermediate, with three sessions a week. There are also top tips from the ProFeet podiatry team, and three community training runs you can join along the way.

Top tips from ProFeet podiatry
Footwear
Reliable, stable runners are key to getting through a run, and your work or everyday shoes matter just as much. That is the shoe you recover in and do most of your loading in.
Call into ProFeet Footwear in Geelong, Ocean Grove or Torquay for a complimentary footwear assessment and gait analysis, plus personalised fitting advice.
Mobility work
Getting the kilometres in matters, but so does mobility. Prioritise stretching and dynamic movement before and after your run to keep the body fluid and reduce the likelihood of injury over the long term.
Exercises the ProFeet team recommend:
- Calf stretching
- Toe yoga
- Ankle circles
- Ball rolling under the foot
