Accessibility FAQ's
Companion Card Ticketing
Run4Geelong proudly accepts the Companion Card. If you hold a Companion Card, your support person can attend free of charge.
Accessible Parking & Drop-Off Zone
While there are no dedicated accessible parking bays specific to the event, there are public accessible parking spaces around the race precinct.
A map will be available to help you locate these spaces, as well as the designated drop-off/pick-up zone near the event village.
Accessible Toilets
- Race Precinct: A portable accessible toilet will be available onsite.
- Nearby: An additional accessible toilet is located on Eastern Beach Road, opposite the yacht club. Both locations will also be marked clearly on the event map.
Noise Sensitivity
The event precinct can be lively and noisy with music, announcements, and large crowds. While headphones aren’t encouraged during the run/walk itself for safety reasons, participants who are sensitive to loud sounds are welcome to wear headphones or ear defenders while enjoying the event village and surrounding areas.
Crowds & Starting the Race
With over 6,000 participants expected, the race precinct, and especially near the start line, can become quite busy. If large crowds feel overwhelming, you are more than welcome to wait towards the back of the group until the race has begun. Your timing chip will not activate until you pass under the red arch, so you’ll still receive an accurate race time.
Reset Zone
A quiet reset space will be available for anyone needing a break from crowds, noise, or the activity of the day. If the reset zone is at capacity, there are also nearby quieter seating areas you can use, including the Eastern Beach Precinct and the Geelong Botanical Gardens.
Sensory Map
To help you prepare and feel comfortable, a sensory map of the event site will be available online before race day.
Hidden Disability Sunflower Lanyards
We encourage participants to wear their Hidden Disability Sunflower Lanyard if they’d like extra support or understanding from event staff, volunteers, or fellow participants.
