Barwon Health Foundation’s most fashionable event, the Westfield Geelong Catwalk4Cancer, has generated $48,000 to support Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre and cancer services across the region.

The annual night of fashion and fundraising saw over 200 guests gather at the new look Geelong Arts Centre on Saturday night for an immersive fashion experience.

Hosted by local business owners, Demi Duncan and Melinda Baxter, attendees were treated to live shows from local stunning brands including; Westfield Geelong, Bird Skin, Pearls and Roses Bridal, Pearls and Roses Lifestyle, SUKii Boutique, Cercle Lifestyle and Vow Studio – all bought to life by local fashion stylist, Fleur Wood Styling.

Event partner, Ceres Life showcased their latest collection in an installation within the spectacular foyer space alongside local acclaimed artist Deb Fisher who completed a live painting during the event that was then auctioned toward the cause.

Well-loved Geelong local, Nicole Baumann, shared her inspirational life story with guests. At the age of 21, Ms Baumann was the youngest Victorian at the time, to be diagnosed with cervical cancer. Her cancer battle saw her undergo gruelling surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation that left her unable to carry her own children. Now cancer free, Ms Baumann and her husband, Mark are on the life-changing journey to become parents via surrogacy.

Barwon Health Foundation Executive Director Zoe Waters said the charity’s 13th Catwalk4Cancer event was a beautiful night of giving back to the local health service, especially appreciated in the current financial climate.

“Geelong’s fashion community always come out in force for a good cause. We are so appreciative of all our sponsors, event partners and attendees who really embraced the spirit of giving on the night. All funds raised will directly support Barwon Health’s Andrew Love Cancer Centre and cancer services and help assist locals navigating a cancer journey, just like Nicole Baumann,” she said.

Many local generous sponsors contributed to the evening including Westfield Geelong, Geelong Arts Centre, Cancer After Care Group, Gartland, Charles Rose, Luminosity Skin MD, Ceres Life, Tess Holmes Makeup Monika Berry Photography and IGBY Productions.
