Forget Me Not Ball

Fundraising for Barwon Health Foundation

Forget Me Not Ball

The Forget Me Not Ball was created by a group of passionate locals who have witnessed the impact of dementia on the people they love — parents, grandparents and friends. More than just a gala, it’s a night to honour those affected, raise vital funds for dementia research, and help ensure more moments are spent making memories that matter.

Join us on 15 August from 7pm at the stunning Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre for a Palm Royale-themed evening of glamour, entertainment and purpose, as we come together to create hope for the future.

If you can't join us but would like to contribute to the cause, this is your opportunity to do so. Donate today and receive a tax deductible receipt.

About Dementia
Dementia is one of the fastest-growing health challenges today. Nearly half a million Australians live with it, and that number is expected to more than double in the coming decades.

It’s more than memory loss — it affects identity, independence, and relationships, touching families and communities alike. Yet dementia remains under-recognised and underfunded.

Raising awareness and funds supports vital research, helps carers, and fights stigma — bringing us closer to a future where memories are protected, and no one is forgotten.

Our Story

Monday 22nd Jun

It all began with a series of somber conversations—too frequent, and sadly all too familiar.

In late 2023, a group of Geelong locals found themselves quietly connecting over a shared reality: someone they loved was living with, or had been lost to, dementia. These conversations, though informal, revealed a common experience that brought ten strangers together.

What followed was a thoughtful collaboration. With diverse skills and a shared purpose, the committee came together to create the Forget Me Not Ball—an event dedicated to raising funds for dementia research and increasing awareness within the broader community.

Above all, the goal is to stand with others affected by dementia, and to ensure the stories of their loved ones are honoured, remembered, and never forgotten.
