Wheel Challenge for

Mental Health

Mental illness is a challenge that impacts our entire community. It is estimated that around 8.5million Australians aged 16-85 will experience a high prevalence mental disorder such as depression, anxiety or substance use disorder in their lifetime.

You can help fight mental illness by raising much-need funds for support and research into mental health issues and, importantly, in creating awareness for an illness that affects our workmates, our families, our friends, our neighbours, sporting heroes, high achievers and those who are already doing it tough. It is also seriously affecting our youth.

The Wheel Challenge for Mental Health will create positive awareness of the issues surrounding mental ill-health, particularly in the workplace.

How it works

On Friday 15th October from 7:30am at Eastern Beach Geelong, 36 teams will participate to raise funds to support and create awareness for mental health.

The Wheel will carry 36 teams for two hours with teams/ individuals only able to be "released" once reaching their fundrasisng target!

KRock are the major partner of the Wheel Challenge and will be there on the morning with a live broadcast and great atmosphere. Breakfast will also be served to participants.

We are looking for individuals to for their own team and/or Geelong businesses to nominate a team of 4 of their staff to participate (Individuals can also enter or create their own teams without the need for an employees backing).

Each member of the team will aim to raise $500 through families, friends, work colleagues etc.

As an organisation, businesses may choose to show their support and sponsor their team by matching the money raised (can be capped to a minimum of $2,000 and an specified maximum) and receive benefits including signage on the team's wheel pod, acknowledgments on KRock, in the Geelong Advertiser, Social Media etc.
