About The Music Therapy Program

Sharing Tullis Smile Fund is a non-for-profit fund which relies on the generosity of our local community to provide a weekly music therapy program at University Hospital Geelong.

The program is run by a registered music therapist, on the children’s ward for many in our community to benefit from, in memory of  the beautiful Tulli Rose.

Music therapy is the informed and intentional use of music to address goals that improve a person’s health and wellbeing. It can be used to improve areas such as communication and speech, emotional regulation, social skill development, motor skills, auditory processing, and sensory integration.
Additionally, music therapy in the hospital works to reduce isolation and stress, encourage coping, and improve wellbeing through choice making, distraction, and relaxation. The best part? It’s fun! Whether it be listening to music, writing a song, or playing instruments, music therapy supports young people in hospital (and their families) to feel empowered, joyous, and hopeful.

About Sharing Tulli's Smile Fund

Sharing Tullis Smile Fund inspired by one brave, strong and happy little soul Tulli Rose. Born with a number of medical conditions which affected her body and the way it worked. Tulli lived with a rare heart condition, epilepsy, parts of her brain were missing and underdeveloped and due to this, she was unable to walk, talk or eat.

In November 2019, Tulli girl left us earth side and become one beautiful angel.
Throughout Tulli’s life, she taught us so much but something extra special we learnt along the way was her love for music. Often in hospital during a procedure, test or just some down time we would play music to Tulli which would help calm and distract her, within seconds a smile would beam from ear to ear. We witnessed first-hand the power and impact music has on your soul.

We wanted to start a fund in memory of our darling girl, by funding music therapy on the children’s ward which will help bring joy to children doing it tough in hospital.
