Critical Care Appeal
Life can change in a flash, we see it so often, where a split second can turn a precious life upside down. It is in these critical life-changing moments, that our local health service can make all the difference.
The Need
About the Appeal
Barwon Health’s critical care departments are an incredibly busy place, servicing a huge catchment area of roughly 500,000 people. It’s here urgent care is given to patients of all ages and walks of life from infants and toddlers, adolescents, adults and elderly - covering a diverse patient population.
The Equipment
What we are fundraising for
Specifically, we are aiming to fund a number of pieces of equipment, including an ultrasound machine for theatre, ECGs for multiple wards and a cutting-edge laryngoscopic intubation video system for critical care. This device is designed for comprehensive and flexible airway visualisation, helping clinicians respond quickly and safely to emergency situations where intubation is required.
It’s modern equipment like this that makes all the difference.

Hello, my name is Ajay Manchandani.
Some people say I’m lucky to be here, but I think more than luck helped keep me alive when I suddenly fell critically ill.
Life can change in the blink of an eye and when it does you want to know that the very best care and equipment is there waiting for you.
