The past, present and future of the McKellar Centre - Join us for our webinar!

31 May 2021

As we all get through this latest lockdown, we are pleased to invite you to what promises to be a most interesting insight into Geelong's much loved "McKellar Centre" via a Zoom Webinar this coming Thursday.

Not only does the centre hold a fond place in our hearts, it's also certainly a facility that is extremely important to the community and all of Geelong and surrounding regions should be so proud to own.

Originally named Grace McKellar House in 1959, when the first patients were admitted, the 40 acres of land on which the McKellar Centre is now built was an extraordinary gift to the community of Geelong and is a site full of history. Today the McKellar Centre is a vibrant community asset with parkland surrounds and incorporates state-of-the-art equipment for rehabilitation, aged care, palliative care plus future uses for mental health patients and a new early parenting centre

Please join us for a special zoom webinar where we will learn of the fascinating history of the McKellar Centre, what is the sole remaining building of the original homestead, what is happening at the centre today and what is planned for tomorrow.

We will hear from an expert panel on all things McKellar plus, as we approach tax time, we have the financial planning specialists from the Canny Group offering advice, tips and, of course, are there to answer any general financial questions you may have.

Guests include:
  • David Meade, Co-Director of Community Health, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care
  • Ange Erwin, Co-Director Aged Care
  • David Drummond, Spiritual Care Coordinator, McKellar Centre
  • Zoe Waters, Executive Director Barwon Health Foundation
  • Samantha Butcher - Financial Adviser, Canny Group

The zoom webinar will be held this coming Thursday 3 June from 11am to 12noon.
