The Barwon Health Mental Health team were among the top 3 fundraising teams for Run 4 Geelong 2020 raising over $3,000 for their department.
The team banded together to support each other to train and complete their run whilst raising funds to support the mental health services provided at Barwon Health.
A portion of funds raised by the team through Run 4 Geelong have then been awarded through the Barwon Health Foundation Grants to fund patient comfort and care items to support patients whilst they are on the unit.
Items such as clothing, books, entertainment consoles and headphones to bring a sense of comfort and reduce boredom for patients whilst they are on the inpatient unit.
The Barwon Health Foundation Grant Rounds were introduced to ensure the Foundation are investing in the items and projects of the greatest priority, impact and need across Barwon Health.
