A remarkable gift from a humble man.

08 Sep 2020

Archie Malcolm was a shy, unassuming and humble man with a heart of gold.

His life began in Scotland and he moved to Australia when he was 17 years of age. He worked as a concreter and was renowned as hard worker.

He loved children, horse racing, sport especially soccer which he played in his younger days and, of course, the AFL where he supported the Cats.

He was known for his charitable nature and, in making his will several years ago, Archie decided that in addition to those special to him, he also wanted to make a significant gift to the community he loved and decided that Barwon Health Foundation should be a recipient of part of his estate.

Archie passed away last year and he left a gift in his will to the Andrew Love Cancer Centre in Geelong - a donation believed to be in part in memory of his wonderful neighbour, Dot Zutt who had undergone treatment there.

Archie probably would have described himself as an unremarkable man, being the humble man he was, but to all that knew him he was more than remarkable.

His legacy will care for and, quite literally, save lives.

Several prominent Geelong lawyers are currently offering (until the end of September) their services free if you want your will written or amended and wish to include a gift to Barwon Health Foundation. It doesn't matter how large or small.
