What is the Geelong Advertiser Run4Geelong supporting?
The Geelong Advertiser Run4Geelong is supporting your local health service, Barwon Health. You can select where you would like 100% of your registration fee to support when you sign up.
I would like to fundraise – how do I do this?
We encourage you to fundraise to celebrate your commitment to complete the Geelong Advertiser Run4Geelong.
When registering you will be asked to set up a fundraising page that you can share with your family, friends and contacts to help you with your challenge.

Refunds
If I can no longer make the race, can I receive a refund?
100% of your registration supports our local health service.
If you are unable to attend you can take on the event virtually, at another time and location of your choosing.
No matter where or when, you're still making a difference.
If you still wish to ask for a refund, a $10 admin fee per registration will be applied.
Any additional donation made at the time of registration cannot be refunded with registration fee.
Please note that no refunds will be issued for any cancellation, whether that be for enrolment fee or fundraising from 5pm Sunday 27th October. All funds retained will be directed to the area of health as selected in your registration.
Schools Corporates
I would like to register my school, how do I do this?
Head to www.run4geelong.com.au and set up a team – let your school community know and then all they have to do is search for your school name during their registration.
If I am part of a school, do I need to wear my school uniform?
No uniform is required.
I would like to register my work place, what is the best way?
Head to www.run4geelong.com.au and during the process you will be able to set up a team, share this team name with your workplace and during their registration they will be able to search for your team.
Is there a corporate challenge?
Yes! We would love for you to enter the corporate challenge – there will be a prize for the corporate team who can recruit the most people for their team!
Volunteer
Is there volunteer oppurtunities?
YES! We have many different volunteer oppurtuinities in the lead up and on the day. Please email us here.
Registration
Where can I pick up my race pack?
In the registration process you can choose to have your race pack sent via post otherwise you will be required to collect in the days prior to the race.
Collection will begin Thursday Nov 7 through to Saturday Nov 9.
Race pack collection will be available on the Sunday Nov 10 until 30min before your race.
Can someone else collect my race pack?
Yes – but please make sure the person collecting your race pack has your registration details to ensure an easy pick-up process.
Can I change my race distance?
Yes – please email foundation@barwonhealth.org.au or phone 4215 8900 to update your details. Please note fees may be applicable.
Where is my timing chip?
The timing chip will be on the back of your race plate if you are participating in the 10km, 5km, 3km events.
The 1km kids dash is not timed.
Where will my results be able to be viewed after the event?
The running event results will be printed in the Geelong Advertiser on Monday 11 November.
As well as online via Tomato Timing.
What are the race distances of Run4Geelong?
Hanlon Industries 10km Run/Walk, Geelong Advertiser 5km Run/Walk, GMHBA 3km Run/Walk and Villawood Properties 1km Kids Dash
How do I enter the event?
Register now online www.run4geelong.com.au
When do entries close?
Online entries are opened until 1 hour prior to race start. We encourage you to enter as early as possible to avoid delay. Please note an increased entry fee may apply on the day.
When will I get my event t-shirt?
T-shirts will be in your race pack with your race bib, this will either be posted to you or avalible for collection from Thurday 7 November – please select your tee size carefully as this is what will be allocated to you.
Can I change my event t-shirt?
Unfortunately we are unable to change your tee size, please select carefully.
What will my race kit include?
Your race kit will include – Run4Geelong t-shirt, race plate for your chosen event and 4 x pins.
I have collected my race kit, what do I do now?
You are ready to go! Pin your race plate to the front of your top and have fun!
Where does my race plate go?
Your race plate is pinned to the front of your shirt.
I have misplaced my race bib, what do I do?
Please call back to event registration to arrange another. Please note a fee will apply to replace.
I have a toddler in a pram, do I need to register them?
Yes – all participants must be registered for safety reasons. All participants receive a Run4Geelong t-shirt and 100% of their registration fee is a donation to their chosen area of Barwon Health.
Is there age limits or restrictions on the 1km kids event?
Only registered participants under the age of 12 are allowed on course during the 1km Kids Dash. This is for the safety of the young participants as they complete their course.
If for any reason you need to be with your child on course please contact foundation@barwonhealth.org.au as soon as possible prior to the event day to discuss.
General
What roads will be closed during the event?
Will bag storage be available for participants?
Yes – bag storage is available for all participants. Please remember to clearly label your bag and use the bag tag from your race plate.
Note: Organisers are not responsible for lots items and we advise you to keep money and valuables with you at all times. Items are left at bag collection at your own risk.
Can I enter on the day?
Online entries will be open until 1 hour prior to the race start. We encourage you to enter prior to the day to avoid any delay.
Can I change my race distance?
To change race distances on the day please go to the registration tent as early as possible prior to the race start. Please note there may be a fee applicable.
What time does my race start?
Times will be released soon.
Will there be food and beverages available at the event?
Yes, there will be limited food and beverages available at the Post-Race Precinct. Coffee van, Sausage Sizzle and some sweet treats will be on offer. Water Stations and Fruit Stations will also be available at the event.
Can I wear ear phones?
We do not encourage participants to wear ear phones for safety reasons.
Can I bring my pram?
Yes – prams are welcomed. Please note all participants must be registered.
Can I ride my bike/scooter ?
Bikes and scooters are NOT allowed on the course
Can I bring my dog along?
Dogs are welcome to take part in the 5km and 3km event as part of Run Paw Geelong!
We ask that your four legged friend is up to date with their vaccination, is familiar with other dogs and large crowds and is sociable.
Please bring along eco-friendly poop bags, there will be plenty of bins available.
Dogs are not permitted to take part in the 10km and 1km kids event.
